Ive used version 2003 and enjoyed it thoroughly. I primarily tried on the extender for school with assorted classes and notes for every single. What was great is the fact that is consolidates all things in a way making it easy to retrieve their strengths. It also makes it simple to generate reports in accordance with the tagging feature. Several weeks ago, I downloaded the trial version of OneNote 2007. The improvements are rather subtle, but powerful. It didnt take something to get comfortable using the new features. After a short time using the trial version I just purchased it given it was a whole lot fun.
Like a paper notebook you could have sections, though with OneNote 2007 you are able to have several sections since you like.
You can simply link pages to Outlook. I have linked appointments with a series of notes and support files for a number of projects and meetings. It makes being organized to get a meeting a cinch.

I used OneNote 2003 for any couple of years now, and it is really a fantastic program. OneNote 2007 is often a very nice upgrade. It is extremely versatile and works using a variety of organizational styles. I have gone nearly paperless for my projects. I can pull in emails, websites, graphics, scanned documents, MS Office and also other documents, screen clippings a OneNote feature, Excel tables, links to files and sites, etc. OneNote 2007 adds a a much better, more intuitive interface, and integrates better with Outlook, the tasks come together better along with other Office programs. Note: I sue Outlook 2003 at your workplace and Outlook 2007 in the home, and OneNote seems to operate fine with both. It also integrates better with Windows Mobile Smartphones and PDAs. OneNote2007 features a Mobile OneNote component that enables you to take notes in your PDA/Smratphone, and sync all of them Unfiled Notes tab in OneNote.

As a productivity coach and also a Tablet PC aficionado, I used One Note 2003 extensively. I found it a superb tool for carrying notes having a tablet PC. I enjoyed having the ability to take notes and easily search them and convert these to text when needed. However, at night Tablet PC, I found its usefulness limited.
Not so with 2007. Microsoft has now made this system as indispensable as Word or Outlook, i think. For instance, I just inserted as file a scan coming from a Magazine I took almost a year ago. OneNote 2007 instantly indexed this content and made it a searchable a part of my archive. The same can be finished with business cards.
now, suppose that same search functionality with Live audio! You can record meeting sessions and also have OneNote index the audio whilst the computer is idle. Voila! Instant search capacity for audio. Plus, during playback, you may see the progression of the notes even though the audio plays.
One nifty little feature I really enjoy will be the napkin calculator just type within a mathematical expression for instance 15 x 12 thus hitting space, and OneNote will automatically calculate the answer and even more complex equations, likewise.

I cant say enough about Microsoft OneNote 2007. This product is the thing that I have already been seeking for the long can help to save everything from website shots, files, scans, photos, audio, video, links, drawings, free text, handwriting, etc. Just about anything you'll be able to think of to compile and organize could be compiled and organized in OneNote.
The interface is designed like a series of virtual notebooks that may be put into sections and chapters, having an infinite quantity of pages in each section. Each page also has a title, also. Best of all, the whole program is very searchable-even scanned documents are searchable with OCR technology. The searches are lightning fast and extremey accurate, I must say. THis makes this software excellent for datebooks, planners, address books, contact list, agendas, lists, the countless things we have to remember, product links for user manuals, genealogy info, cool website links which you dont need to clog up your favorites with, and merely about any kind of research or project. The notebooks are share-able in just a network and real-time syncable at the same time as usable with tablet notebook technology. I do wish that Microsoft had integrated precisely the same toolbar ribbon interface that some with the other Microsoft Office 2007 products

Purchased OneNote for my new Tablet Laptop for school.
First time I tried it, the pen featured kept disabling itself stating Windows XP tablet edition SP required. Um, ok I have that preinstalled about the laptop. Formated my machine and hang a still steamy new copy of XP tablet edition back on. Nada. Upgrade to SP3, nada. Most people have had little problems with this particular app, but if that you are like me and roll the dice wrong. You are boned, there is NOTHING around to help you and Microsoft just says We cannot clarify what or if there is usually a problem. Thank you.

Information is so simple and easy-dare I say it?-FUN for me to locate what I need immediately on my small laptop. As a jaded Windows user, I rarely get bowled over by new desktop software but OneNote 2007 is fantastic! My three favorite features:
1. I work on multiple computers during my office. I can make a shared notebook with clippings pictures, video, which is automatically synchronized amongst every one of my machines. No must perform save operations, or stress about which machine gets the master copy, all edits are incorporated instantly and without user intervention. Unplug your laptop through the network, make edits offline, plug back in towards the network AND ALL THE CHANGES ARE MERGED PERFECTLY!
2. Image to text function. Copy a bitmap at a non-editable text window or picture, paste it into OneNote and convert it instantly to text. No more cursing dialog boxes that do not let you select and copy text.
3. Simple and direct text and graphics manipulation. Move stuff wherever you want about the page, add and edit text - all without mode switching or needing to opt for a text tool or grabber tool or cropping tool or sizing tool. Very nice.
I would reckon that OneNote points inside evolutionary direction that this rest from the Office suite will adopt with regard to ease of use, network awareness, and replication and sharing. Its a great organizing tool for anyone and small groups.

Ive been using OneNote because it was first released. The 2007 release may be the most effective writing/note-taking/information-organizing tool Ive experienced. Data might be exchanged with MS Office programs easily. It could be used with tablet, desktops and laptops.
Information could be organized by Notebook, Section and Page an excellent option for students to maintain their notes organized efficiently. It can be a great method to keep research notes, cut-and-paste exerpts, etc.

I cant say much which everybody else hasnt already said, but I would say this: I use OneNote not simply for organizing information as if it is generally advertised to perform, but as being a creative outlet.
