This product sounded too good really was and for me it had not been good. Installation was easy, no problems. I connected my video camera as well as the USB box and copied over my first tape. That is when problems started:
1. Sound timing is off, voices and mouths aren't in sync.
2. In edit mode the transition effects derived from one of scene an additional do not work.

I was very hopeful when I received this device. I do not have a lot of VHS tapes to transfer and seeing glowing reviews thought this might be perfect. I have several segments that I had to get to DVD that can help a friend.
I begun to transfer VHS tapes with all the standard video cables. I have a P IV 3 GHz Dell Dimension with XP Professional, higher than the needed configuration.
Video was very choppy with numerous an escessive amount of dropped frames. Upgraded PC memory to 2GB, hoping that might eliminate the choppiness. It didnt. Used my external harddrvie for your capture knowning that helped perhaps internal harddrive hasn't been spinning fast enough, although that seems odd.
During capture, program would randomly stop, requiring me to begin with all over again. I watched one tape segment much trying to get the fifteen minutes of video to transfer.

I had high hopes for this device as I get this amazing mountain of VHS tapes which are quickly becoming useless. I had problems installing this supplement from the start.
