I have already been a MST user for years within the PC. No problems. Bought the 2013 version to download onto new Microsoft Pro Surface 2 tablet and it is just not compatible to Windows Version 8. Wasted money as it can cease refunded.

This is my second version of Streets and Trips. First, the program download was simple. We have GPS and smartphones, but we like multiple stop driving vacations and S 3, 000 miles fourteen days in Yellowstone/Tetons area, etc.
S stop x-min every x-hrs for /restroom stops, insert stop/start locations for more information on then start/stop driving day times so can better determine where would like to overnight. Based on our selected MPG, tank-empty % and driving habits, it possesses a great refill location for the map, We have find this worthwhile when traveling in sparsely populated areas or let into the evening. I am a field salesman, and I have 400 customers whorrrre points about the map that I must figure out who to check out everyday. I am a heavy map user - Ive been using Streets and Trips for further than a decade, and I use MapPoint Microsofts other map tool for territory design ending it the territories between reps to start with, as well as the Badger Map for building my daily schedule and organizing my territory.

in my opinion i like miracle traffic bot when its working. i'd personally blame my system, however, if this software wont work right as well as others something needs more attention with this particular running a whole new computer.

The sixty day trial is usually a farce-when you close this course and open it again it requires the product key. I have spent time and effort trying to deal wtih MS-they are simply unresponsive-difficult to evaluate software that only runs once and cant be reopened.
Might be well worth the 40 SRP if, simply if, the eval copy actually worked. It takes over half-hour to uninstall and reinstall it each time you need to open it. Microsoft wont deal while using non-working issue. I downloaded it both from CNET and from MS - neither copy will run again. Maybe if there became a way to allow it actually run for two months I might buy it. Another program I downloaded from MS MapPoint actually does intall and run correctly with all the eval version. Someone at MS programmer??? forgot to tweak the code and since ususal, MS is acting totally irresponsible and like it normally won't understand simple English. I guess Ill keep with my older program. Its funny, the volume of time/dollars MS has invested on sending me stupid emails with non-working suggestions is costing them more than simply giving me a product key. I dont mind paying for it if I desire to keep it - thats only fair.
They have removed the rubber band search within the 2010 version which has been very useful personally.

Ive given up looking to install. The first download produced unexpected errors. 2nd download installed but this software will not open. Error message: Registry settings just weren't copied correctly. Reinstallation yielded same results. Have quit.

I had no problem configuring it on Vista. If its NEW and not something more important Id ask for a refund where I bought it. I was after updated maps but usually like my 2006 version better, this 2009 version is usually to cluttered.

I thought this supplement was discontinued in years past. Why would anyone want this after they could get a Garmin handheld GPS unit or use Google Maps? I give vid 1 because it isn't free and it isn't made from the best handheld GPS manufacturer ever.
Is your Garmin handheld GPS unit free? Or can it cost money to get it?
Ill rate my curent version of MS Streets Trips a 4 because it still needs some work. Cant get the 2011 version as a result of glitch inside web site.

I will go along with tangentlin on all points. As the owner of two Garmin GPS machines, i've found them very helpful. I cant let my spouse outside the house with out them. But Garmin cant do many with the things Streets and Trips are able to do, and Google, while a terrific resource, no longer can do many on the things that can be carried out with Streets and Trips, and those stuff that Google is capable of doing is frequently harder. You get that which you pay for. Google is free, so in case you dont wish to pay for S and T, you still are capable of doing some with the things that S and T is going to do.
That said, I was not able to download this trial of S and T, which I needed to compare to my present 2008 version, to find out if the maps during my area have been updated. MS requires registration even though I am reqistered with MS, the webpage the download link sent me to laughed and said that either my email address contact information or password was wrong. I know, naturally, the information I provided was correct. However, I notice for the bottom with the registration page this We are can not complete your request. Windows LIve ID is experiencing difficulties. Please try again later.
I gave quite sure a 4 which is excellent based for the 2008 version. If it were freeware, I would have given it a 5.
Edited Addition 9/3/2009 - The website is up and I have my copy with the 2010 version. The 2008 version has some minor mapping errors within my area. I checked and they happen to be fixed within the 2010 version. A missing street around my community is now within the map, as can be a recently constructed and opened freeway about 30 miles from my home. My only complaint may be the dark toolbar which, I believe, was added for that 2009 version. I havent checked, but there could be a skin to correct that, yet it is, of course, only cosmetic, and definitely not a large problem. I do recommend quite sure. Get it at Costco and reduce your cost.

MIcrosoft Money was normally the one discontinued and not Microsoft Streets and Trips. Microsoft Streets and Trips is NOT designed to work with for Garmin, also it is pointless to make it work together with Garmin as Garmin is definitely loaded with maps, and basically has many duplicate functionality.
GPS that is included with MS is only able to tell the positioning, while it provides advanced mapping, trip planning, and map browsing in a manner that Garmin can't do too well.
I use Streets and Trips to let me look at my routes, optimize trips with multiple locations, in order to find other interesting information including restaurants and POI. Though my Garmin is capable of doing this at the same time, POIs only work within the spot, also it is slow. Streets and Trips make it easy for me personally to zoom in and out from the map, pan and show off for information in blazing speed. I dont need connection to the internet to do this, therefore it works perfectly anywhere with or without wifi connection.
Garmin isn't going to come with any road construction update, but Streets and Trips do, thus it helps me avoid construction zone.
Streets and Trips isnt meant to replace the tranquility of general GPS for instance Garmin or TomTom. For navigation, it is always easier to hang a 7 screen about the windshield than mounting a laptop. Streets and Trips rival other mapping software products realize that I am not comparing with online mapping including Google Maps or MapQuest with simple interface and convenient navigation.
Occasionally I find some maps are expired in some areas, in any other case, it might have earned a 5-star!

Both products released on the same time, and both are accessible for download. The look of both would be the same. I saved a S T 2013 file for a visit from St Louis to Princeton. From the Data tab I clicked around the Export to GPX file.

I REALLY wish it were that simple. On my computer I maintain an Admin account and, per Microsofts suggestion, a typical User account. 56 days ago an Windows Update to my computer made my Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 cease working, but ONLY FOR THE USER ACCOUNT. Under the Admin log-in S T continued to be effective! I reinstalled many times, including complete un-and-reinstall, installing over a pre-existing account with no success. In desperation I created a different User account and spent the following two days getting passwords, favorites, and hardest coming from all, email accounts to operate. Then I found Streets and Trips 2008 STILL provided me with the registration error when logged in being a user, and worked being a Admin.
Really frustrated I figured it had been worth my 40 and downloaded 2009. OKay, I still was required to create a THIRD User account, nevertheless it worked! I could run Streets Trips through the user account and didnt should change log-ins.
With 4 days left on my small trial period, I downloaded the most up-to-date set of Windows Updates and guess what happens? After wasting hours, loading and reloading these devices driver I attended Microsoft Help its keep are many posts using people with 64 bit operating systems with all the same problem. If Microsoft just isn't going to solve a well known problem, the smallest amount of they should do is mention it can only assist 32bit OS within the system requirements.

I just became Streets Trips 2013 to replace this year's version. I expected to have revised maps but there is usually a lot that may be still missing, it's just not much better than my 2010 version. Software is updated and good but without four years of mapping revisions its no better Map wise compared to older versions. If you can find along without the application upgrades follow what you could have.
Oh, I have two Garmins both have current maps, are both far superior for the maps in Streets Trips.
Rating reflects good software poor maps.

I use this being an OTR driver. Its just the thing for route planning. Its very nice seeing a breakdown of your route likewise as planning stops and 10 hour breaks effortlessly. I also use Truck Stops Plus add-on, so I know where all of the truck stops/weigh stations Wal-Marts etc are and can readily add those to my route.
I utilize the GPS feature. Obviously you will need to still verify the path with your road atlas, as this device is suitable for cars Truck Stop Plus really helps here however its nice seeing and discovering upcoming turns likewise as keeping a running tab of your respective progress. Speaking of hearing the turns, I turn the pause Windows media player option off, because every time the application says outside of route road construction, getting to fuel, etc it starts and stops the media player over well as over.
Overall, I really love the product. It just makes life a whole lot easier. I would endorse it to the trucker. I also highly advise having the Truck Stop Plus add-on.

The new Streets and Trips 2013 installed and ran and not using a problem on my own laptop and in my desktop. The program seems to become a little quicker in calculating a route. There are more landmarks. It was obviously a worthwhile upgrade personally.

Newer isnt necessarily better. I purchased the Streets Trips 2013 specifically because I had read that this maps ended up updated for that first time in three to four years. Yet, the maps don't have the corrections that this maps on the cheap GPS I bought two in the past from a China Vendor. In fact, my previous two year old TomTom had corrections which might be not for the Streets Trips 2013 nor in my newer Garmin for instance. Besided, the maps dont seem to become any better compared to Streets Trips 2009 maps that I also own. Of course, that may be only a superficial speculation from appearances.
Other as opposed to outdated map issue, the Streets Trips 2013 loaded into my netbook IBM Lenovo without glitch and I was in a position to activate the maps over the Internet. I havent experimented with activate this product on several computers together reviewer says to own done in his review. And Im somewhat skeptical of this sort of claim.
The essential thing is I was competent to load the maps on the unit with a 1024 X 5?? screen resolution. DeLorme Mapping software refused to set up because on the screen size of my netbook. And the netbook with Streets Trips 2013 has more functionality than any standalone GPS unit that I are aware of.
