Having owned the earlier version of EX, I must say this new version can be a joy to utilize! Everything you got within the old EX version could there be. Perspective and symmetry rules are available, story mode, etc. All that great stuff! My sole complaint is usually that the 3D options happen to be severally scale back. There was a good deal you could do that has a 3D object in EX 4 that you just cant do now. Thatll be annoying for those who depend on 3D objects heavily. Im not having a star off though, because I just use the 3D for reference as well as its still best for that!
I love the modern interface. Its still not setup like Photoshop, however it is also less unwieldy as the last version. For people who are new at all to this program, they can be extremely fortunate even when they dont realize it. For those individuals coming on the previous version, there will likely be a period of adjustment. But the modern layout should you choose to me, once I find out where everything's, so I dont mind re-learning the locations many different tools!:
Painting and inking have already been improved. I do not know how they managed to further improve the inking, since that's stellar from the last version, but there you go! I upgraded from Manga Studio 4 EX to Manga Studio 5 EX and I should say, there is a period where I had to familiarize myself together with the new interface. The way they arranged the various tools felt awkward initially, but immediately after months of seen I found it made more sense, and allowed of those tools for being more easily accessed and customized.
The Manga Studio software series was made primarily for comic creation, but it really can also be utilized for creating standalone illustrations for print and the web. Especially ever since it has coloring tools and layer blending modes that are just like those within Photoshop. Until now I had to Frankenstein my work between Manga Studio and Photoshop, drawing and lettering in MS then importing it to PS for coloring.
