Just my very own prefer. Even the preview of Microsoft Windows 8 doesn't compare to Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2.
So far Windows XP is undoubtedly the slowest OS Ive ever worked. Not really worth buy in any respect.
Windows XP just isn't a good OS, as it keeps crashing for pointless and its so slow, even though you have 1-2GB of memory. If you've got XP, I recommend you upgrade to Vista SP1 or 7 now.

Yes XP just isn't perfect but hardly slow than the bloated and rushed VISTA. If you execute a clean install with XP along with your computer remains to be slow it's your hardware otherwise you have the wrong drivers installed. This isn't XPs fault.
The following step is to buy a fresh computer with 7. You can get a different one for several hundred in case you need a great computer for tech you'll be able to build your own a couple of hundred too. Im sure you will find techs locally that can help you. Either way the rule of thumb is XP for old computers, and 7 for brand spanking new ones. And if you will cant stand XP i really enjoy seeing then exchange signal of linux. Its free and much more secure.
Very, really good Windows program
Easy to manage problems, simple to navigate. Holds enough. Tells when there is usually a problem and fixes it easily. Fast 85% times. Good household computer, tells each time a program may harm your personal computer, and asks if you need to run it.
Lags sometimes ANNOYING, could be slow 35% of times. When multiple tabs windows are running concurrently, all of the programs immediately become unresponsive. When programs become unresponsive, inconvenience to shut this system down.
Overall, I have had this computer ALL MY LIFE, plus it still works like brand-new. This computer is definitely an old but trusted friend, and when you want to pick out a brand new program, go along with this. You wont regret it!:
when your Microsoft ME computer wont work anymore, invest in a upgrade package off ebay that converts your o/s to XP home. Yes, it functions OK and lets you keep your current computer some more years. as Microsoft will support XP thru 2013
no choice but to convert to xp from ME. XP home works all right and all my old software is very rewarding on it. No support for ME which was very beneficial for me for several years. Time to progress to XP to hold software current.
XP will most likely go down as Microsofts best os ever. After service pack 2 and 3, they finally first got it working! Why reinvent the wheel? Im happy and hang up for at least several years due to a 50 upgrade pkg purchased off ebay

Slow and unresponsive, terrible interface, not enough custmizations, and bsods
It amazes me that men and women actually like or windows 7 kinda like how people actually like macs.I would rather use windows vista than xp and that we all no vista became a disaster. Go with windows 7. It cost a lot more still less than a mac however and doesnt secure on you and it also is alot faster than winbloze xp should you not run it on crappy hardware
