Mustafa There have been tons of successful downloads from the eBooks already since I set up my posts, so I don't believe this is really a common experience for those. I do possess a couple of thoughts though:
1 Have you tried right-clicking for the eBook you intend to download and selecting Save Target As to save the eBook download directly rather than clicking the web link to open the eBook link first?
2 It also feels like you may be behind a firewall that's blocking un-recognized sites, which can be blocking the download from beginning. If this will be the case, you may want to use again from another location.

If you don t have Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V or Windows 7 Virtual PC available you'll be able to download Virtual PC 2007 SP1 and run that on almost any version of Windows released inside the last a few years. Just be careful not to ever run Virtual PC 2007 SP1 with a machine that's either Hyper-V or Windows 7 Virtual PC already enabled because you ll have serious performance problems due towards the hardware virtualization contention.
I was kinda late in the Lab Management RC trial. I was wondering though if I may make my own Lab Management machine SCVMM and Hyper-V and connect those on this virtual machine s TFS. It should be technically possible right?

The HOL documents are already available as, since you ll note from the links above. However you won t have much luck using them without worrying about VHD ever since the VHD contains lots of pre-populated sample data which is essential in order to work with the HOL s.
Thanks to the heads up. I can t use a virtualization platform in my corporate machine. I have full access to your TFS 2010 server we stood this last week. Are there any scripts available if I produce an empty team project collection? Couldn t you only give us a detached/backed up TPC? Hmmm want to try and do the training so how?
Unfortunately I haven t committed to creating scriptsexports on the information necessary to support the underlying hands-on-labs. While a TPC export would address some from the labs, others require additional artifacts builds, internet site deployments, reporting warehouse that wouldn t be captured in a very pure TPC export. I understand we now have a few people as part of your situation who would take advantage of this but along with everything else I just haven t had the resources to package it up in this particular manner.
Maybe you are able to download the VM to a different machine and rehearse with it outside of your respective corporate network, like at home? Just a thought.
Downloaded the VPC 2007 version to my Dell Latitude notebook. I have 2 Gigs of RAM about the machine and wasn t capable to run the VM past with all the Windows logon screen. The readme says I need 4GB of RAM which I don t have. Would be nice if I had step-by-step videos on the labs so I could ateast educate yourself on the tools. Already have Vista, VS 2010, and TFS 2010, installed with within the latitude. Out of ideas.
You re right, 2GB of physical memory isn't really going to become enough to employ a successful time primarily VM s, especially this one which can be running many server software. If you wish to see these scenarios in working order, almost all in the demos are available in my presentations coming from a few months ago. See
Just FYI, the VM does run on my small 2GB RAM Windows 7 Dell desktop. I allocated 1GB for the VM and it also responds fairly well. Even though it s in the recommended minimum I took a chance and it also works fine, to have other issues by way of example you better have about 50 gigs of free space around the hard drive when you begin, etc. Just sayin, FWIW
