Im sorry but Picture It is very much suitable for Windows 7 Home Premium. I know because Ive been using it to the longest. Maybe you've got a virus scanner like Webroot that treated it just like a PUP and prevented you from setting it up? Once you believe it is, dont lose it because its difficult to acquire again without it being packed full of alternative party applications.

Microsoft Picture It Premium 10 is the very best photo editing program Ive ever used; tried it for decade. Windows Live Photo Gallery is often a pathetic excuse and does nothing. Im really sad that Microsoft dumped the offer. I wished for an new version with a number of more features. I hate Adobe Photoshop, but appears to be there is little choice anymore.

Windows Live Photo Gallery will not be an alternative! It does not do what Picture IT! did. Please updage Picture IT! to be effective with 7. Lots of us are certainly unhapy with what you could have given us!
Microsoft Picture IT continues to be discontinued in windows7 and that may be replaced with windows live photo gallery.

Thanks Shekhar S, but I am a graphic artist and my real problem seems to become that almost all my work for that last 8 years is format given it allows me to edit the layers inside projects any time they want much like Adobe Photoshop. I cant apparently find another program that supports format or that I can convert format to which will keep the layers intact and designed for editing. I could convert all of them but that could flatten the whole picture and get rid of the layer editing capability even during Photoshop Elements. Can you tell me if there is surely an possible format I can convert file to that will me to help keep the layers inside the literally thousands of projects I have finished in my portfolio over time. I have read format but that may be no longer supported either. Without this capability, it seems that I am stuck just using Windows XP for my existing business designs until my old XP PC dies then my business designs are lost forever. I think it is really unfathomable that Microsoft has decided to leave a lot of customers out inside the cold having a format they created and this was still being marketed in this particular decade without having alternatives in addition to to kiss their work goodbye.
I was in a position to install and utilize Picture It 2001 in this little Windows 7 PC with only 1 minor problem. First run the Picture It installer in Windows 98 mode. Once this course is installed, set its executable to Windows 98 mode too. I found that I can keep edit images I only edit jpgs, havent tried any file extension like I used to, though the Save As option doesnt work. My workaround is to produce a copy with the image Im gonna edit first then save my changes either to the original and the copy just by clicking Save and overwriting the file. I hope this will assist!

Nichegirl - You hit the nail around the head! Im pretty disappointed in MS for bailing for this cool tool. Its the merely one Ive fond that the engineer are able to use to extract images for any photo and paste in to a presentation your degree in graphic art. I tried Adobe Photoshop and Illustrater CS4 but it really was WAY over my head. I got frustrated and bailed into it. Picture It was simple, simple and it allowed the user to hold the simple, simple; and also the complex, possible. Other than the occassional glich, I love the offer.
Hey MS - you need to give some serious thought into reintroducing Picture It. You may keep a lots of us from groing through to Apple.
