Hi All, I are actually redirected to the present forum at a link fond of me from software4students because I have precisely the same problem. Although, I am trying to fit office 2010 onto the latest laptop along with running windows 7 Software4students seem often unwilling to do anything about this issue stating that technical problems must be taken up with microsoft.
In my case I cannot even get my laptop to determine the supplied DVD. It just whirls around making horrible clunking sounds. I have checked the drive plus it plays both CD and DVD fine and may recignise the DVD version of office 2007 which was previously purchased in software4students. Have spent on the week looking to resolve this I am not willing to wast any longer time within this rubbish. It is obvious there's an issue together with the compatability of the 2 products.
Despite what software4students say about contacting Microsoft, my purchase contract was between myself and software4students not microsoft. Under selling regulations that have to offer a product that fit for purpose so that as described. Office 2010 is neither so I is going to be advising software4students tonight that I require a full refund immediately and are going to be returning the item. If this fails I will get yourself a charge back on my small credit card arranged.

Hi there, if anyone is scanning this. I had exactly the same problem. My DVD drive not reading the install CD. I called Microsoft. They will never support these discs from s4s as they are a special deal. Told me I need to consult s4s. Called s4s in Belfast - they said to put the cds in another computer which could read them, and copy them onto a USB stick - then install them on my small computer on the USB stick. I will do that later and let you know whether or not this works. I know my sons computer is newer than mine, and his awesome dvd can see the disks so fingers crossed!!!

I was facing exactly the same problem until i receive a simple and quick solution. uninstall or delete all 'microsoft office' files. restart one's body. Disable your antivirus Program. and end program within the task manager and reinstall office 2010. worked like magic personally.
My problem was with Vista. I finally have it installed, but it really wouldnt work. It seems there is a corrupted file which replaced and from now on it works fine.
I believe there were to try 4 ways to obtain the proper register for replacement.

I bought my OfficeHome Student June 24th along together with the disk. I have tried to fit it on 3 diff computers and mine is not going to install. I have spent several hours with tech support and all sorts of they say is leaner level tech support cant aid me and I must buck up the plastic card for 99 more. Ihave ASUS N61Jv laptop running Win 7 Home Premium. I had Office Pro Plus 2010 installed and running fine, then programs started hanging on me a couple of times so I made a decision to uninstall it then reinstall it.
However I now cannot have the reinstall to finish. Every time I try it runs ok to about 70% complete then it also just hangs!
Then I cant cancel thhe installtion lacking an reboot.
I have aimed to cleanup the partial install by running Registry Mechanic, Smarty Uninstaller Pro to create sure all of the components of office are uninstalled. I have operate a full scan by ESET Anti-Malware to ensure there are no viruses etc
I have searched fror possible solutions and run the Microsoft Fix It programs MicrosoftFixit50450 MicrosoftFixit50493 and then to make sure each of the components are uninstalled.
I have also attemptedto reinstall office from 2 different discs, and I in addition have downloaded an innovative version from your microsoft site but - each time I try it hangs at a similar spot. Yes I have alloweed it a good amount of time to accomplish.

2. then right click cmd icon and select run as admin.

what anti virus are you currently using? in case you have set up . disk for your Antivirus, please:
1. uninstall the antivirus
3. set the configuration above
4. click start cmd rightclick and run as admin and type this
5. log off on the current user and log-in as admin
6. don't install Office from DVD, build a folder on desktop and copy any office file from CD into that folder
7. open the folder in 6. and right visit and select run as admin.

AS I do not have a disk, I disabled it then proceeded to aim another install depending on above.
