Found some bargains on Newegg and decided to purchase a few different programs and present them trying. Here is what I discovered. Test system: Windows 8.1 PRO. i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, SSD boot drive, mechanical back-up drive. First I tried Vipre Antivirus 2014. I felt it absolutely was a bit intrusive also it slowed down my PC a tad bit. Decided and keep and install on my small daughters PC. I then tried Webroot SecureAnywhere 2015. This one was fast, a lot of intrusive but, it caused blue screen of death restarts. Happened a couple of times over a couple of days. Didnt feel as if finding the reason and removed. BSOD issues stopped once that it was removed. Next was BitDefender Internet Security. Great detection rate but felt intrusive and my PC became sluggish from time to time. Plus, sort of expensive until you find a screaming deal as I did. I then tried Qihoo 360 Total Security. This seemed awesome to start with. No slow downs, fast install, detection rate seemed good however came my research. All on the bad press I found on Google turned me off quickly. Felt secure from viruses but got the impression I installed an entrance for Qihoo to spy or steal from me. Paranoid? Perhaps. Bottom line, I developed into very comfortable using this version of McAfee. The bad reviews from your past may have already been warranted, but, this version felt being a much improved product. Im going and keep this version for your 12 months I covered and see what goes on. I may renew it. All I can think are, dont let all of the bad reviews in the past turn you from McAfee. Im needs to believe that Intel is finally getting their act together using this. NO, I will not work for Intel, McAfee or some other software company. Just my estimation and I thought it will be helpful to others. Thank you
