Despite the cruel reviews that Ive seen, I decided to present this a try. I am a proud Windows 7 user. By the way this can be a platinum edition with the 25th anniversary edition. There was no cd key or code on this version. It just installs and also you run it. And its also mac compatible. I don't possess a mac so I cant say if itll run using that.

If you've a widescreen monitor, set your graphics card to hold the aspect ratio instead of to stretch it. I have my Nvidia card set for Nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio. That setting may seem to work best. My monitors native res in 1680x1050. Youll progress results since Mavis will not be widescreen. Not a problem to me. It is going to be to some.

This would be the second version of Mavis Beacon that any of us have purchased as well as the same software bug exists. As you set goals on your own, eventually right around when you are typing near 50 WPM, it flips all of your current stats into negitive numbers. There is no way to climb out on the hole. Youll can never predict where youre at from this level on as it starts to count up from your negitive number and also you start going backwards towards zero. Very frustrating for the children who count on acurate numbers because of their progress reports in education. This bug has been around in their software over 5 years now and then there does not look like any must fix it. Ive reported the condition in detail and all sorts of that Im ever told is always to wait for your newer version to be released. They will never refund your hard earned money, they simply sucker you into buying another version as well as the problem still exists. Weve duplicated this matter on three different computers around my house. Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. All Operating Systems were fully patched up. Its not our computers. This company carries a bug of their software that they won't correct. I would inform you not to obtain this product!

I purchased Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing Platinum 25 with the Mac about 30 days ago.

Once, when I was from the middle of Intermediate Training, I was kicked right back into Beginner Training - - not to ever help me with my skills, but being a bug there was clearly no record with all the different work that Id implemented to that point. After restarting this program a number of then completing a few beginner tests, suddenly all of my info returned?!?!
I do not know if the older versions of MBTT improve, but be warned: IF YOU BUY THIS SOFTWARE FOR THE MAC YOU WILL FIND BUGS!!!
