Mashup can be obtained for both Windows and Mac OS X. You will need an Internet connection make use of Mashup - it connects online to research new tracks. Once the tracks are analyzed, you can utilize Mashup anywhere - - on the highway, on the airplane, and so forth.Back in 07, I couldnt determine which was a much better name, Snow Police or Every Car You Chase, so I used both. The original version on this mashup uses merely the publicly available single versions of both songs no acapellas, just careful editing. Listen to it below, or download above.
In 2011, when Sony Pictures came calling, I assembled a new better-sounding semi-officially-sanctioned version while using the full original stems of both songs for your film Just Go With It, unfortunately? it might only be heard inside the movie and I cant ensure it is available for download, although I have posted it for streaming only on Soundcloud:
Beyonce vs. the Andy Griffith Theme
A ridiculous combo that got a smidgen of laughs when I come up with in late 2008 after which had another middling spurt appealing in late 09/early 10. Looking forward on the 2014 revival. Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing named it his all-time favorite mashup and also gloriously stupid, which can be probably the kindest possible description of my work.
Green Day vs. Oasis vs. Travis vs. Eminem
I made the very first version of Boulevard since the finale of my LIVE 105 Sixx Mixx show on October 1st, 2004. I wanted to make use of Aerosmiths Dream On to the end, but was finishing it minutes prior to the shows 6:00pm air time, understanding that song wasnt inside studio or on iTunes back then this was back prior to could just download anything whenever, kids. But I suddenly remembered Eminems Sing For the Moment sampled Dream On, understanding that was inside the studio, so I used that instead. My original intention was to work with Aerosmith, though, so I eventually made the version
Green Day vs. Oasis vs. Travis vs. Aerosmith
Boulevard of Broken Songs Version 2 Remaster 2005?
This may be the second version, but I prefer it, since its what I desired to make from the first place. Its first appearance was on Best Mashups from the World Ever are from San Francisco but I cant remember exactly when I managed to make it, Im confident it must are already 2005. Bit of trivia, this actually uses two versions of Dream On, the initial album version as well as a live performance using the supremely hokey extend-o ending then stadium cheers. Over the years Ive made 3 to 4 remixes of the usb ports attempting to cheekily take advantage of its status as my hit see below and also the Soundcloud box above.
Chemical Brothers vs. John Williams
Id been playing Z-Trips Empire Strikes Back mix shopping, to ensure sort of inspired this. It needless to say took me three months to realize the Empire theme was from the same key as Galvanize, which can be sad because Galvanize arrived on the scene right around exactly the same time as Episode III and I could totally have syngergized this mix into cross-promotional pop-cultural dominance if I hadnt been each year late.
So the following is incomplete both on account of my own neglect as well as the nature of my work. Ive made a lot of DJ edits, special mixes for radio shows, prototype minute-long mashups that got a few spins within the Sixx Mixx, etc., so its difficult to really quantify the number of mashups or remixes Ive made through the years. And naturally, in my radio shows plus in my DJ sets Ive featured a great many other producers tracks, which might be incorrectly assigned to me now and around the internets.
So if theres something youre searching for that you cant find, youre always thank you for visiting get in touch at m and have me about this, and Ill do my wise to help.
For radio shows like House Nation and Subsonic, live DJ sets, promo mixes, etc., please go to your Mixes page. And naturally the Sixx Mixxes are gone on the Sixx Mixx Remasters page.
Duck Sauce vs. Michael Jackson
Felguk vs. Katy Perry - California Clever
Duck Sauce vs. Michael Jackson - Beat Sauce VERSION 1
Steve Angello vs. Pitbull - KNASGo Girl
Nancy Sinatra vs. Janelle Mon e
Green Day vs. Oasis vs. Tonka/Black Noise
Simian Mobile Disco vs. Rufus Chaka Khan
I made the initial version on this for the Sixx Mixx at the beginning of 2004. I think. Who knows. I mean, I wasnt paying much attention. But anyway, the mix showed up in a very video game many thanks for asking me, incidentally, DJ Hero, and for that reason I thought Id profit from its notoriety by remastering it and generating a cute new cover. And when I say money in, I mean, not get any cash.
Commodores vs. Rolling Stones
Coldplay vs. Sebastian Ingrosso
Id been hearing Laktos around and I was like, huh, those happy little chords predicament. So, slap a vocal and several echo extraordinary and you got who you are a jam.
MSTRKRFT Bloody Beetroots remix vs. Class Action
I mean, seriously. Both these songs are in regards to the party! And thats my name!
Bat for Lashes vs. Shawn ChristopherEgostereo
How great is Bat for Lashes album, Two Suns? Maybe Im an overall girl maybe! but I really identified, lyrically, with Whats a Girl to Do, and Natashas really hit the nail within the head again with Sleep Alone. Sigh. But most importantly, the songs hypnotic rhythm cries out for any trance-y remix. Of course Im too lazy to search and make my very own beats, so I just go seeking something inside same key, and I remember Egostereos chilly remix with the Shawn Christopher classic Another Sleepless Night, which similar to also employ a nice lyrical similarity too. Bonus.
And the award for laziest mashup title goes Well, damn, you are attempting and develop a better one. Just What I Poked? Anyway, Id been wanting for making something out in this classic Cars track for just a while, but there isnt any instrumental, so I style of had to build one.
Evelyn Chapagne King vs. Kid Cudi
And the award for laziest mashup goes Okay, dislike theres anything wrong using the Crookers mix, but sometimes you dont necessarily employ a peak-time dancefloor ready for a real banging megajam, right? This doesnt really go anywhere, however it is, you already know, pleasant enough.
Mostly this little numb er is due to Kristi since I was organizing a Bootie video set and fretting about without having any hipster tunes, and he or she said hey, think about that Vampire Weekend band, and I was like, okay. I keep thinking I should do being a 7-minute jump-up jungle version in this, but I guess Ill bring that to the to-do list.
Kanye West vs. Green Day vs. Oasis
I hope people realize that theres a little self-mockery taking here, inside sense what has amusing if you ask me that one would take ones hit after which beat it to death with cheesy remixes, in, as Ive said before, of the same quality a sign every of being around the back side of ones career arc. Did I just take off the funny by over-explaining it? Damn, that happens in my opinion a lot. Anyhoo, isnt that Kanye song awesome? Isnt Kanye awesome? I look like mucking about your guys stuff a great deal lately, but I promise Ive totally liked him since the best way long time ago.
Queen vs. House of Pain vs. Go Home Productions
Darr. I never really wished to release this, since its super lazy and sloppy and I totally boost the comfort was just something I made so I could play Jump Around at Bootie. But people like House of Pain and Queen and junk, so now you go.
Justin Timberlake vs. Radiohead
So I hear My Love outdoors, and I realize, holy crap, that is Reckoner, filled with falsetto croonery. Then I waste 2 or 3 days putting it together, then I realize the Oakenfold mix is in fact really good and deserves a unique version. Fun.
A cheesy little number Ive been playing across the nightclubs, and you can use it your Zunes.
Justice vs. Kanye West vs. Soulwax
Started served by a plain old JusticeKanye mashup, after which as an exclusive remix especially for an all-video DJ set, included what is apparently? the stuttery Soulwax re-edit of Beethovens 5th in a very bit of your cheeky hitting the ground with ADs hit mixing Beethoven and Kanye quite a while back.
This is fairly straightforward: get involved at dance tempo, reduce for some MIA, speed back nearly dance tempo, crowd goes wild or even just goes toward get a drink. It uses the Jeff T remix of Felipe Avelars Electric Boogaloo for your beats.
Fake Blood vs. Purple Ribbon All-Stars
Super dull blend using the most popular neo-rave tabs on 2008.
I tried this two different methods: for the new, doing my own, personal bassline-style version pilfering beats on the Twocker remix of 187 Lockdowns Gunman, and second, doing slightly more mellow mix that utilizes the funky backing track from Mowglis mixture of In the Clubs Turn You On.
Led Snooppelin was a go back in 2004 in an attempt to put something together that wasnt entirely 80s-dependent much like the rest of my work. I never really liked the way turned out, but despite its obvious production flaws, it got attention, basically because on the source material exactly the same way a great deal of otherwise dull rap/rock mashup hybrids did in those days. So, for my January 2008 video showcase set at Bootie, I figured it may be time to rework the one thing. Its somewhat faster now.
Two songs that have been already overused on the millionth degree in mashuppery and remixery as soon as I put both of them together, but it was part of my Daft Punk-inspired 2008 video DJ set at Bootie so I thought that it was funny.
Honestly this is inspired by DJ Zebra who, whenever we were on tour together in 07, would end his sets on this MSTRKRFT mixture of, which I really liked. So I was like, what goes with this? Pete Burns goes your. Silly, and I probably worked harder around the cover compared to actual mashup.
Hey, Party Ben would go to Mexico! As you can tell I always like to generate some form of locally-influenced mashup whenever Ive got a DJ gig in a whole new place, so for any few gigs in Mexico I made this simple little ditty. In a totally weird coincidence, I found themselves meeting the P-Mosh guys in Monterrey. They were nice.
Cant Stop Callin Out: The Complete Party Ben vs. Lyrics Born Experience
The original 2004 mashup that appeared being certainly one of my biggest LIVE 105 hits, interesting since I to start with considered it a copout cousin to my Janet Jackson/U2 combo see below.
This would be the remix I assembled specifically for just a LIVE 105 BFD DJ set where Lyrics Born himself was playing - - that from fact consisted entirely of mashups remixes of other artists around the bill, which was obviously a good idea in principle but made for the bit of an wonky set. Anyway this uses the excellent old Blondie beat for pumping up ze dancefloor.
The whole point on this was to possess something surprising for my Bootie headlining emerge January 2007, since citizens were sick in the U2 one at this time.
I only agreed to be going to perform B-more style mixture of Lyrics Born however I couldnt help but put several of Pick Up the Pieces within it.
This is simply me being stoopid: using SebastiAns thumpy Ross Ross Ross, this mix doesnt really go anywhere but is type of amusing in a very glitchy style of way.
Ive for ages been a fan of Plump DJs, along with fact, several of my first forays into your nightclub scene in San Francisco were inside the Nu Skool Breaks scene. Those were purchasing. Anyway it is a little throwaway thing.
This one takes the datA remix of Teprs Minuit Jacuzzi, a track that already appeared to reference 80s freestyle, and makes that slightly more obvious. I actually was required to completely reconstruct the Tepr track to produce this happen, it sounds pretty easy however it wasnt, I promise.
Lyrica Born vs. Average White Band
This was item # 4 4 that I produced while using good old Lyrics Born a capella.
Chemical Brothers vs. Ludacris Star Guitar Stand Up
A while back Electrosound inquired about to take part in the bootleg tribute on the Chemical Brothers, and although I dont usually have time and energy to contribute to these projects, Id had a notion rolling around my head for elucidating the Baltimore sound that style of bubbles under in Star Guitar for the while, so I was happy to employ a deadline to whip me healthy. So, first I made the mostly instrumental version which I handed off towards the project, after which I thought hey this will use some Ludacris, so I threw Stand Up over it. Whee!
Modern Talking vs. Gnarls Barkley
Part with the Party Ben Gettin Euros Tour 2007 Experience!
So in an effort to ingratiate myself while using many nations from the EU, I tried to build something right for each location about the tour: Polska Boys for Poland see below, a Boulevard mix with MC Solaar for France, and this also ridiculous thing for Germany. Not familiar with Modern Talking? Theyre just the most successful pop group in German history, and it works out You Can Win If You Want is basically a similar exact chord pattern as Crazy. I played it at Bootie Munich expecting a rousing ovation, but sadly, it almost killed my floor.
Kult certainly are a legendary Polish rock combo, and song Polska comes from 1992, so its understandable what has refrain of Poland, we reside in Poland may not be without a bitter edge. Come to think of the usb ports, it usually is nothing but bitter edge, with a sort of stoic pride inside the bitterness in this way Eastern Europeans achieve this well. Sure, this mashup is usually a slapdash affair, thrown together in desperation to get something Polish to learn for crowds in Warsaw and Krakow. But I chose the contrast with s vocals rather amusing - - like, the quantity of boys are usually in Poland - - you'll take pride in came in handy during a emerge Warsaw the evening the Polish soccer team caused it to be into the finals with the first time like ever. Poland!
1. Faithless vs. Yaz vs. Steve Miller Band - Dont Go Insomnia Airlines
An early version on this using Ce Ce Penistons Finally rather then Yaz made its first appearance throughout a headlining set on the club in January, 2007, but this place is slightly better.
Also designed for that set but I still actually play this sometimes.
3. Junior Boys vs. Rod Stewart - Do Ya Think Im Sexy In the Morning
Was never that happy while using production within this, just a few intrepid Bootie fans have inquired concerning this.
4. Timbaland vs. The Supremes - The Way I Keep Me Hangin On
A little an inside joke between me and my Bootie co-DJs AD, who in?famously claimed never to like my 2005 mashup Wipeout Taffy, so I took an instrumental backing theyd made his or her, Le Tigres Deceptacon which theyd used in the well-known mashup with Missy Elliott, and taffied that shit up somewhat. Anyway, guess you was required to be there.
H ey, Boyz is 6/8 time, and thus is that out of date Kate Bush song The Dreaming, filter systems play them at the identical time.
This is m y work for balance a remix on the Jose Gonzalez track, Killing For Love. This uses beats coming from a Cirez D electro track called Horizons. Theres actually some original Party Ben bleeps and bloops in it too.
I was dismissive with this when I first caused it to be in 2007, mostly considering that the DIY acapella I used of Umbrella has audio quality issues, but nobody perceived to mind. It kind of took off and eventually managed to make it to Dave Wakelings ears, who named it fantastic, and then, for the ears of Adam Sandler, who chose it as being the second of my mashups for being used within the 2011 film Just Go With It. Like Every Car, I recreated the mashup in cinema-quality sound using some officially-sanctioned stems, but additionally like Every Car, this cleaned up version can just be heard from the movie and within the Soundcloud stream I uploaded below, but I cant allow it to become availble for download. It was actually utilised in many on the Just Go With It TV commercials starting in November of 2010; buy me a drink sometime and Ill let you know all about meeting that deadline and where I actually found a copy on the Tenderness remix in the event the record label themselves couldnt track it down soon enough.
Mylo Etienne de Crecy remix vs. Tegan Sara
I produced the initial mashup of Tegan Sara with Mylo last 2005. Tegan liked it, Sara didnt, it got played for the radio a big pile. Two years later I heard this excellent remix of Paris created by Etienne de Crecy, so when I finally tracked that down, I redid the complete mashup making use of it. For better and for worse, his remix is in fact pitched up from the main, which has been itself already a couple of steps above Tegan Sara, so now their voices are far in chipmunk land, but, such is life.
Lyrics Born vs. Average White Band
How much can I milk Callin Out? Well, since I was form of responsible for having the brilliant Lyrics Borns Callin Out included with LIVE 105 rotation where it eventually traveled to 1, I feel as if I can style of go nuts with all the a capella. First there is the U2 version, then there were the U2 remix version with all the beat from Rapture Riders then there was this blog. Its disco-riffic! Props to LB for not, you recognize, suing me.
Bonde do Role vs. New Order vs. Spank Rock
Felt like playing Melo do Tobaco at Bootie and this required putting something else entirely over the top than it right? Although certainly Melo do Tobaco is essentially a mashup of Man inside the Box on the beat from Peaches something like that with some Portuguese shouting and stuff, who knows whats taking place here.
Michael Jackson vs. Nelly Furtado
After several tries at marrying something for the Promiscuous a capella I finally found a thing that worked.
The Wiseguys vs. Olivia Newton John John Travolta
Funny how things exercise. I considered this an overall joke when I managed to make it, last 2006 I think, however its turned into one in the tracks I play in the most even today, and in all probability has gotten the bunch going often, in diverse locales, than simply about other things Ive available. People love Grease.
Gnarls Barkley vs. Donna Summer
This uses Karl Gs bootleg remix being a jumping-off point and basically just layers the synth loop from Ms. Summers legendary little number over the entire thing. I know theres like 500 Crazy boots on the market but my excuse is i thought this was part of a combination I did for XFM so its in contrast to a real mashup or anything.
This is a dose of a riff for the Boyz Noise blend of Kaiser Chiefs, however it is also got I Feel Love inside it.
Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine
Well, this cracks me up at the least. See, cause there was clearly that other Miami Sound Machine/Mylo mashup by those Phil n Dog guys that was being a mega-smash, but nobody within the US knew that Miami Sound Machine song, so it is like for Americans and stuff. Ha? Anyone?
Elastica vs. Sean Paul Temperature Connection
Gorillaz vs. No Doubt vs. Deep Purple
Something silly I designed for Bootie that people found themselves asking about enough that i can overcome my shame and post it here. More importantly, I made this cover from the basic PC paint program in the office and thought it absolutely was funny.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs vs. Green Day vs. Oasis vs. Love Rockets vs. Samantha Fox
This operates firstly as kind of a dub combination of Boulevard of Broken Songs, and was just a goofy component of a Sixx Mixx, but I kind of liked operate all joined together, so now it is.
A remix of certainly one of my earliest mashups, which just used Khia and Laid Back.
Made specially for any local nightclubs totally silly Country vs. Electro theme night, but turned into certainly one of my most requested tracks. Video version features added Snoop!
Wanted to create a Death Cab remix; got distracted by Madonna. Then made the originally intended version with no Madonna vocals. First tabs on mine certainly where an fan-made video arrived.
Possibly probably the most hated mashup in Party Ben mashing-up history. It was one of the primary things I released as soon as the D-level fame of Dean Gray. Can you say, self-sabotage?
The White Stripes vs. Eric B Rakim
There were quite several quality Doorbell mashups out by the point I did mine, but I sense that since I looped the Pump Up the Volume rhythm over the full thing, mine is really a bit more dancefloor friendly.
Novocaine Rhapsody Green Day vs. Queen vs. U2:
If this pointless combo got an individual to buy Kraftwerks Computer World, it turned out worth it.
Two QOTSA album tracks Medication, Everybody Knows That You Are Insane in unholy union with Trents ubiquitous vocal from The Hand that Feeds, this in tribute into a tour the 2 bands did together. As far as I know they never cuddled tenderly as pictured about the cover, but my photoshop fantasies are almost as satisfying.
Ive always received piles of strategies for mashups, and despite appreciating each and every e-mail I get, these suggestions are usually very annoying. First, individuals are usually just screwing around and possess thought of an funny title, and customarily have no regard for almost any potential musical mixing, and moreover the complete thing feels type of disrespectful, I mean, I know mashups are silly but will you yell in your favorite bands to learn Freebird? Oh, I guess one does. Anyway, this idea did indeed come from your LIVE 105 listener and intrigued me enough to utilise it. The audio quality is terrible to my ears, since there seemed to be no Cake acapella and I was expected to just, like, ignore the bass, but here it can be, and the ones still ask regarding it.
One day I pointed out that the Tegan Sara track there we were playing at LIVE 105 had precisely the same chord pattern as Mylos Paris Four Hundred, so I stick them together. Surprisingly, it turned into among my biggest hits ever, getting airplay across the world and ending up inside the Top 5 most-played tracks of 2006 on Seattles C89.5. Tegan Sara themselves came in to the station a couple of times and were incredibly nice, but apparently they disagreed about if they really liked my little rework, so despite its success, the chance of an official release never got off the floor. Their label did, however, from what I understand, offer promo copies to learn to dance and Top 40 stations, encouraged through the success at C89.5. Of course, T S have gone through to work with numerous dance producers subsequently, so I feel maybe like I played some part for the reason that. Who knows.
Led Zeppellin vs. Snoop Dogg
This is the primary version from 2004. Honestly, this became a pretty cynical move, thus, making this, since I hadnt done any rock-vs-rap things and this whole mashup style was getting a whole lot of attention at that time. I think my disinterest shows inside the sloppy production, but after it got a lot of attention, I forced myself to revisit it in 2008 which newer version above is tolerable.
Chic vs. Franz Ferdinand vs. Beastie Boys
Once upon a Sixx Mixx, in June, 2004, I threw together Franz Ferdinands Take Me Out plus the Beasties Triple Trouble. Funny, I thought, theyre like from the same key and stuff. About a month later, genius bootlegger and Friend of Bootie TM McSleazy announced his latest mashup item: Franzie Boys! Now, needless to say Mr. Sleazy came up together with the idea on his own, but it really was style of funny, so later when I did my personal Beastie mix with Chic, I snuck Franz Ferdinand in it and gave it a reputation that was obviously a nod to his original version and stole his cover. Love ya Sleazy!
Another one among those Dont Own a Drum Machine Or Have the Individual Tracks from This Song But Would Really Like To Do A Remix So Ill Just Steal This Instrumental Dance Track from Way Out West and Put A Lot of Echo On the Original and Call It Good Or At Least Mediocre things I do.
Got two airings on BBC Radio 1s Essential Selection!!
Green Day vs. Oasis vs. Travis vs. Aerosmith vs. Eminem
This could be the original version as culled in the Sixx Mixx which aired on LIVE 105 on October 1, 2004. The remastered higher bit-rate versions are for the top from the page.
Green Day Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Oasis Wonderwall, Travis Writing to Reach You From 1999s The Man Who, and Eminems Sing For the Moment which samples Aerosmiths Dream On, the song I originally designed to include but that has been not on iTunes or inside studio during the time, and my show concerned to go within the air, so I had for making do.
I made quite some versions of the for the LIVE 105 Sixx Mixx leading nearly the 2004 elections dark days, those were, using various speeches by President Bush and even somewhat Cheney sometimes. Theyre all pretty dated now but right at that moment, it felt like there we were doing something pretty cool - - typically, commercial music stations avoid political commentary of any type, which this certainly is.
The phenomenal East Bay hip-hop genius and all-around nice guy contains the Party Ben mis treatment with Sunday Bloody Sunday - - yes, I already did one with U2 and Janet however you can ignore that you because this ones a lot more better.
This is still form of retarded but no less than has three great tunes from it.
I dont discover why there arent more Waiting Room boots - the damn things got like 2 full minutes of instrumental sections, its exactly at hip-hop speed, and it is a freakin classic. Apparently got the approval of Fugazis Ian MacKaye according to some Washington Post reporter.
Beastie Boys vs. Afrika Bambaata Soulsonic Force
Not quite as frenetic and hyper because the Old Skool Mix see below, this really is a somewhat more dancefloor-friendly.
Aaron Axelsen of LIVE 105s Saturday night electronic music show Subsonic totally Luke Chable song at like 3 inside morning, and I was like, What is sample from? Three days later I figured against eachother: Linkin Freakin Park. So I thought, you should add a lot more, to ensure it is more obvious with the kids? Party Ben: always thinkin in regards to the kids.
More of any blueprint for anyone with actual talent and possibly a drum machine to create a good blend of Maps.
Everybody says Freddie Mercury sounds all chipmunky on this, but what am I expected to do, decrease the Daft Punk? I think not.
Beastie Boys vs. All Sorts of Vintage Techno
A mix from the Beastie Boys with multiple classic house/techno tracks including Fast Eddie Yo Yo Get Funky, Royal House Todd Terry Can You Party, Inner City Good Life, 808 State Cubik, LA Style James Brown is Dead.
My first seek to put something with U2s Sunday Bloody Sunday; this is fine, and inspired an incredible lip-synch performance from Patty OFurniture and Tristan Shout co, but I form of abandoned this idea when I realized Lyrics Born sounded good with U2.
A running joke back 2004. A mix I made that replaced the Jesse Jackson speech inside Crystal Methods Keep Hope Alive with Howard Deans raspy victory holler more and more or less sunk his campaign became a viral hit on LIVE 105 and also inspired an outing from KTVU Fox 2s Brian Banmiller, who experimented with interview me, but I was nervous developing a camera stuck during my face they couldnt use most of my mumblings.
Anyway, it been found that once Id edited together an instrumental of Keep Hope Alive, you can just type of put any speech on the top than it and it would sound dramatic. So I kept executing it, with the funny, whenever an amusing new little bit of spoken word audio would hit what is this great. The version I made using Howard Sterns voice during his controversial final year on terrestrial radio got a spin for the actual Howard Stern Show after WXRK electronic show host Liquid Todd gave it in their mind, but Howard type of willfully? misunderstood the problem, demanding to recognise how much money the Crystal Method was making from selling a song that used his voice. I naturally have continued being a gigantic Stern fan and was only giddy to own my song played briefly, while they never said my name or anything.
New Order Bizarre Love Triangle vs. Madonna Ray of Light, made specially for Bootie 1/14/04.
Audioslave Show Me How To Live vs. Lumidee Never Leave
Produced this specifically for an episode of LIVE 105s electronic show Subsonic, but couldnt imagine a name for it. So we opened the product lines to consider suggestions, and i thought this was the best one.
Inspired by Adam Freelands brilliant dub-style reworking of Nirvana, Smells Like Freeland, this can be a complete complete de- and re-construction of Hey Ya. Similarly to Freelands mix, this uses merely sounds from an original song, although often altered significantly. My biggest innovation this is probably turning the chorus into straight 4/4 time for the end taking off the quick 2/4 measure that gives the initial some quirky charm. It all similar to employ a kind of retro-jump-up-jungle sort of feel. In general one of the most popular things Ive ever produced, because it felt such as a real accomplisment.
Featuring beats from songs by One Up Front, Plump DJs and Moby, manufactured in 2001. This changed into a crazy phenomenon when it had been put into regular rotation on LIVE 105, and was my first taste of local viral fame. Of course, this became before I even a web site, and I spent hours burning CDs from the track and mailing these to fans who e-mailed me for the station, and later on, spent plenty of money on pressing promo 12 singles so I could actually play against eachother - - this is before CDJs were standard for DJ booths. Made a go to post it towards the famous bootleg forum GYBO where that it was savaged without mercy, but its tough to overstate how popular this was inside the Bay Area right at that moment.
The Seed 3.0 Party Ben remix
Featuring the beats from Lee Coombs remix of New Orders Crystal, plus some other stuff I cant remember.
Too my credit?, I remarked for the similarities between your Spooner and Nirvana before Adam Freeland said he was attempting to mash those two up when he made Smells Like Freeland. Anyway, mine proved pretty badly.
Satisfaction Skank Party Bens mashup, not Fatboy Slims
So heres the storyline. The year is 1999. I read in NME about Fatboy Slim playing a particular version of Rockafella Skank as part of his DJ sets that's mixed together with the Rolling Stones; he was calling it Satisfaction Skank. Cool, I thought, but Ill probably never get yourself a copy of these. This was prior to the internet, folks! We had prototype digital audio editing software for the radio station, so I decided to make use of it to try to make my Satisfaction Skank, having never even heard Fatboy Slims. The station found themselves putting my version into rotation, and popscene emprisario Aaron Axelsen literally hell out from it.
Of course, I wasnt clear in regards to the genesis of my mix when I first posted it with this website, years back, and several overzealous mashup types accused me of stealing it. This does happen at all times with amateur productions like ours, I mean, I see people taking credit for my stuff all on the place. But obviously, that wasnt the way it is here. Whats amusing is the fact when I finally heard Fatboys own mix, years later, I didnt appreciate it - - his was slowed up to fit while using Stones, which I thought was awkward.
Incidentally, the editing software was called Session 8 and it also lived on while on an old PC at LIVE 105 - - that it was called Session 8 because doing so featured 8 audio tracks to try out with. It been found to be the sole computer I know of that has been an actual casualty in the Y2K issue, legitimate, the LIVE 105 engineers said it was obviously a piece of junk and couldnt be salvaged, is actually no compatible software on the market to which I could transfer the tracks and session, all the initial files were all lost on Dec. 31st, 1999.
From an indicator by Aaron Axelsen, Popscene DJ and LIVE 105 guy. Went through several revisions and not quite joined together although the kids at Popscene were known to shout Smack my bitch up during The Hives since Aaron played it constantly.
So 12 months is 1998, and Im an important part time production assistant at LIVE 105. At time, all LIVE 105 production was, needless to say, still done on reel-to-reel tape, though the station had this Session 8 digital editing software over a crap PC inside the side studio see Satisfaction Skank description above to get more on that, and it also occurs for me that maybe learning over it would be recommended, because digital stuff stands out as the future. Of course my prescience didnt extend to, like, buying Google stock or anything. Anyway I thought we would teach myself make use of it by building a remix of any Beck song I really liked. That will be Lonesome, from One Foot within the Grave. The original song was in 3/4 time, and my innovation ended up being to set it into a 4/4 hip-hop beat due to DJ Shadow, rudimentarily stretching certain notes inside the Beck song by copying tiny sections manually for making up the extra beat in each measure. It was my very first attempt for digital manipulation of music.
A running joke way back in 2004. A mix I made that replaced the Jesse Jackson speech inside Crystal Methods Keep Hope Alive with Howard Deans raspy victory holler more or less sunk his campaign became a viral hit on LIVE 105 as well as inspired an outing from KTVU Fox 2 s Brian Banmiller, who experimented with interview me, but I was nervous creating a camera stuck around my face they couldnt use a great deal of my mumblings.Want to test your hand at making mashups? Follow our painless introductory steps and well maybe you have going in almost no time. Pic: Mybigmouthblog
Right, you've heard all with this talk about making mashups. You know its an improved idea than making mixtapes. And naturally, you additionally know youve got a great ear for the purpose sounds right. So why are you still no more detailed making a mashup?
Maybe you believe you need special software. Maybe youre fearful of beatmatching with acappellas. Or maybe mixing in key's whats stopping you moving forward. Todays article was designed to get you over-all of these hurdles. You can use your normal DJ software, well explain to you how to beatmatch your acappella, and show you the truth about key mixing.
So heres tips on how to get going. It probably wont cause you to be a masterpiece, however it will match the BPMs all up nicely in your case, supply you with an easy way to experiment, and remove all on the mystery. This should supply you with the confidence to then take mashup creation further.
Find a tune you have an acappella, the full vocal version along with an instrumental of - If you havent got one, go to check out one. It must all be a similar mix - so as an illustration, an authentic version, an authentic instrumental, and after that the accapella. Its not pretty much as good having the instrumental of 1 remix along with the vocal of one other. If youre just missing the acappella, try the wonderful
Set the BPM with the acappella to precisely the same as that from the instrumental version - Unfortunately you cant just press sync, because your DJ software probably wont be capable to guess the BPM with the acappella, because it has no beat. But since you have the instrumental version and also the vocal version, you know the BPM with the acappella - its a similar as the above! So manually set its BPM to that
Recreate the vocal version with the tune by dropping the acappella within the instrumental - This is often a step that Ive included certainly get used on the process. As you will have an acappella with the right BPM, start the instrumental playing on certainly one of your DJ softwares decks, then with the right time, start the acappella playing. Not sure where it starts? Refer on the vocal version - thats why weve started using it. Now you might have effectively the identical track as being the full vocal version, but composed of an separate vocal and instrumental. Feel free to play around with your EQs, crossfader, filters etc to remix the track about the fly
Replace the instrumental which has a different songs instrumental - When youve had enough of these practice run, stop everything, receive the acappella back towards the beginning, and about the deck that you just have the instrumental loaded on, load the instrumental of your different song. Match its BPM on the BPM in the acappella - hitting sync will perform it. You know the BPM on the acappella is correct, because you set it up earlier. Now start the instrumental playing, and wherever you feel it can be right to accomplish that hint: count in eights, start the accapella playing. Use your nudge controls to obtain it exactly soon enough if you may need to. There your going - the first properly beatsynced mashup!
Id be very impressed if the first mashup created within this way sounded good. For mashups to be effective, two extra things should fall into place together with getting the elements properly BPMed:
First, the song structures need to match it may help if versechorusversechorus etc. all drop in the right time, for example - in any other case, you must start cutting and looping things, which gets complex for sa beginner. Also, it can help if other components within these for instance chord progressions match or contrast nicely - its a lot intuition and learning from mistakes.
But thats fine - just keep choosing different instrumentals, start your vocals in numerous places - its part from the fun. You may would like to mark cue points with your acappella so you can begin sections of it from the right place with your favourite instrumental.
Second, you almost always have to pick an acappella along with an instrumental that are within the same or maybe a related musical key. However, Ive left mention in this till last when you shouldnt let worrying relating to this stop you experimenting - I was doing mashups with vinyl for decades just using my ears to make the decision if they sounded good or otherwise not. You should do the identical.
Try together with the keylock function on the software on / off either or both decks, for pointless other than that this can usually give you a couple of of different sounding options to audition.
Mixed in Keys Mashup software is built to help with this particular process, including by auto-matching musical key available for you.
What youre doing here's creating live mashups. If you would like to record them, you need to hit record as part of your DJ software and perform the mashup live, hoping you get everthing how you want it to be.
If you need to pre-prepare your elements to acquire everything just-so, you need to make use of digital audio workstation DAW software. Audacity is free of charge, or you can invest in Mashup, a whole new and relatively cheap program thats built to help you are making such mashups fast.
If you wish to start mixing in key, the free Keyfinder software or paid-for Mixed in Key will analyse your collection - or when you are a Virtual DJ user, key analysis is made in. That will make guesswork beyond matching acappellas and backing tracks - although be sure you put key lock on on both decks.
As always, rely on ears more than anything else. If it sounds right, it likely is! If youre undecided, just save your valuable efforts and listen again tomorrow - youll soon hear whether theyre adequate.
And if you're lucky enough to use a gig you can test the first mashup at, please do get involved in it live - the crowd reaction would be the one that counts, and theres nothing such as the feeling of playing something you created with the first time and acquiring a good reaction.

Figure out how you can create loops and the way to timestretch them towards the target tempo. If you got that right you can begin with the first mashups and remixes. Simply drop additional percussion over the track, or speed a pre-existing track approximately make a completely genre out than it.
MOST IMPORTANT: Get things done! It is not important if you are using loops from Loopmasters, or use Traktor to record your mashup. The only thing that counts is you have finished something people may actually play. Having something which sucks and everyone hates remains to be more valuable than having nothing. And if there is at the very least on person on the soundcloud who says nice track then you've already achieved greater than most others.
Unless you needed a hit or already are a superstar nobody is giving a shit about the way you make your beats. Things change after you have achieved something. therefore makes use of the freedom you could have whilst nobody cares and try things out. Also nobody will judge the issues you made prior to became a superstar

I ve been perfeccioning my mashups since a year ago and found them to get a great tool to advertise my set when playing live as people sometimes ask what music is that so you say it s your creation.
Here s an example of any mashup I recorded today on traktor kontrol s4. It s a live remix of Gotye s Somebody that I used to learn mixed with Zion Train s Dub To Power and Stefano Noferini s remix of Good Music by John Acquaviva Dan Diamond.
All of the comes so naturally in my opinion. Already followed all these steps and even more without even being forced to think regarding it.

Is GAME OF THRONES Setting Up a Family Reunion?
What if Taylor Swift s Blank Space was mixed together with the world of Westeros? It could well be slightly different. Okay, a whole lot different. In the latest Nerdist Presents, we ve foundthe ultimate Game of Thrones and Taylor Swift in conjunction with Blank Page. It s not about love going to end in disaster, it s about George Martin s unlimited power. He can kill any character he wishes to, and frequently it seems as though he revels in being capable to transform a blank page to a death scene.
In film, Martin is visited by Daenerys Targaryen and reminds her that though she s a follower favorite, she could still bite it whenever you want. Or for the very least, she may be maimed. No one is safe! It s funny because doing so s all true. Not that my begging would produce a difference, but please don t detract Daenerys, Mr. Martin. Please.
What character would you most desire to survive A Song of Iceand Fire? Let us know inside the comments.
Please mr. Martin, dont kill Daenerys Targaryen!
I would love to own an mp3 with this.
I want this as download now, please?
So awesome. Best part was when he just stops and says I ll write your company name. So awesome!
Am I the one one whose ambition is an MP3 of the? lol although an MP3 wouldn t have quite exactly the same amusement as actually watching it.
Awesome video, it s imposible to not love it! You rock guys.
Please please please don it youtube!
the rest is flippin epic though.
Oh man, I love this mash up. The ending will be the best with poor Snow coming to the death lair.
the Key of Awesome parody is indeed much better.
Dany s totally being set nearly be the main bad guy anyway. If there s a very important factor George hates, it s a hero
I want this for my ring tone! Make is happen!! Lol
my classmate s step-aunt makes 75/hr within the computer. She has been fired for 9 months but a few weeks ago her paycheck was 12997 just working around the computer for just a few hours. go now
Dany hasn t been interesting since season 1. Killing her off could well be something I d find very welcoming
Nick Mundy, you sir are crushing it
I love how the next major character to die shows up with the end with the video.
Daenerys and Jon Snow must live, get together, fall madly in love and rule the 7 kingdoms
And that s stopped anyone inside the series before?
That is my prediction. I think that in A Song of Ice and Fire, Jon Snow could be the Ice, and Daenerys will be the Fire.
I dont think so happy ending in GOT. nope
Eh, Targaryens actually marry of their family, making sure that s actually OK and keep the Dragonblood flowing.
That could possibly happen, we don't know! Only GRRM knows, as well as he might not!
Love it, just right! I could well be most upset if Daenerys Targaryen or Arya Stark were killed. I haven t browse the books, so don t identify! LALALALA puts hands over ears
Do not fear, both survived over the last book, now we just have to wait they survive the upcoming book
the show is deviating through the books more plus more each season though, expect some more unexpected deaths soon
