I thought I would attempt to save all the others some time by saying never to download this demo. First of, the demo only allows an activity with 1 minute quarters. There is no drill mode or many of the other things the summary boasts. Also, i dispise to say it, but the sport is absolutely rigged against you. I have had the lead up against the computer more often than not, just to see it miraculously dissolve since the computer recovers a fumble and rambles 90 yards for any touchdown eventually expiring or by various other miracle. In reaction to gamers August 8th note about using it for your PC over PS2 - - the answer is simple. Just BUY a casino game controller for that PC. You need a dual analog controller to get able to utilize the Playmaker feature on Madden 2004 - - which include wont focus on other PC game controllers.
Anyway, heres my spin on Madden 2004 - - its a GREAT improvement over Madden 2002, largely because on the added features. The only difference would be the cheering, jumping crowds are eliminated, which can be good because I found them very distracting.
2. Gameplay graphics are marginally improved on the already fabulous 2002 and I assume 2003 versions, and that means you cant go awry here. A little more realism is unveiled in players movements. For example, whenever a defender intercepts a ball, his post-interception reaction time usually decelerates as he assesses the brand new situation. Be careful of that jarring hit from your rather ticked-off wide receiver.
2. The accelerated clock option sped things up quite a lttle bit in gameplay. Clock runs down quickly between plays. A big plus.

Ive bought and played just about any version of Madden since 98. While it took madden a little while to get up to your good game, I always felt it hit its peak using the 2000 version along with the subsequent releases just added style over substance. No more! in Madden 2004, even though the graphics are truly stunning, gameplay has improved greatly also. The computer opponents are challenging, often it seems somewhat too much.
There are some annoyances to the sport. For example, within the normal camera angle when the offense punts for your requirements, you cant understand the covering team coming for you while you catch the punt. If you dont call for just a fair catch, theres a 90% chance youll get hit and fumble the ball. For that reason, I call for any fair catch on virtually every punt return.
Another annoying feature will be the number of sacks the computers defense can get on you. There are times when it's likely you have half a second to acquire rid on the ball through the snap before youre driven into your turf.
