Hi Patricia, glad you found the guide useful apologies if the comes across patronising however they are you sure your Dell Mini 10v was included with Bluetooth? Its not fitted as standard and is usually a separately configured option!
Hi Ed, Mine could be the Mini 9 and I purchased this new with many upgrades, including BT, which caused Win XP.
The other thing that I ve discovered isn t working could be the internal mike, which I don't use anything but for Skype but I need to use a USB headset now. Both the BT plus the internal mike the computer tells me the hardware doesn t exist. Any suggestions in order to fix a single one? I use a USB BT from an existing laptop to ensure that is working though the internal mike is a lot more critical to me to have utilization of.
Strange, I don t have my Dell Mini 9 anymore but I definitely had Bluetooth working and I think the mic was working too although I rarely possess a need for doing this so can t confirm when it definitely was working through the looks of it for this forum post on MyDellMini it appears to be to work for some but not for others you might want to try one with the suggested methods on the for getting effectiveness.
I couldn t find anything about Bluetooth damaged on Snow Leopard hacked Mini 9 s I can t recall if there s an option inside BIOS allow Bluetooth, but I d suggest checking there in the event you haven t already. If not, what I may suggest whether or not this s not to ever much of an pain would be to start from scratch and try an innovative install on the formatted disk drive.

hi there, too! thank you for answering! i've installed 10.6.2. yesterday, too. very smooth but inside the profiler manchester international finds a chip from a alternative driver, but cannot activate it -
Hi love the website. I m operating a Mini wanting to bump up the RAM and install the bluetooth. Anyway the inventors at GIZMODO have a very guide which doesn t require DVD drive all is finished via USB. That s how I set mine up also it worked like no bodies business. I if you might add that on your guide. Thanks,
Maybe it is now possible to fix my wifi problem?
Rob thanks for your heads up on that! I ll update our guides section on this as I m sure there a wide range of people out there without entry to an existing Intel-based Mac which will find that useful.
Nice guide. Could you specify the configuration of your respective Dell Mini 10v. there are a few different configuration possibilities open at Dell. For example will the N wifi work. It would be nice to possess for comparison before I start the challenge for getting a Dell and install Mac OSX upon it.
anything new about my wifi problem?
My son installed MacOSX within my wife s Mini 10v. I am seeking to install Boot Camp in order that she can run some Windows programs also, but I am battling. Can you help?
Ah, I was far too late. I think the mini 10v is not offered by Dell. Now all they have will be the mini 10 with all the Atom N450 processor which I guess is incompatible. Argh.
Great! Does this method work together with 10.5 Leopard DVD?
This post was mentioned on Twitter by aaron bird, Harry Rodriguez. Harry Rodriguez said: RT InsanelyMac Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on Dell Mini 10v Guide /cF4Kbo
I actually found this link in the Dell store that should work. It lists the Mini 10V for 250.
Hey Ed, I ve had 10.6 on my small 10v for several weeks without having problems and wish to update to 10.6.2. I ve read several other places that if running software update I need to run NetbookInstaller afterward to begin with rebooting whereas you appear to say it s safe to reboot then run NetbookInstaller? Thanks a lot!
I wanted to ask, perhaps there is was anything special you had to try and do if you upgraded the memory to 2Gb?
Kok Kee Koo you may also do windows work over a virtualized system; runs nearly as fast and is also just a disappear.
Check out Sun s VirtualBox I installed it with XP, ran their additions and yes it runs perfectly!
Kok Kee Koo whoops; forgot an important part: it s free!
Thanks for your link. It doesn t mention the Dell option Dell provides employ a quess?
1.802.11g 1397 MiniCard Included
Which configured wifi would you people have? and works together with MacOSX
Does the version with the BIOS have impact?
Last although not least. How will be the overall performance? I know to never expect top rated for example using photoshop. but casual browsing and iworks, remote sessions, can they work ok? And is often a upgrade to 2GB RAM a possibility? Did see some info about this being able to upgrade to max 2gb.
Thanks because of this guide. I ve got my little Dell working perfectly, already for being handed over as being a birthday found in a week.
Only problem. the disk drive isn t showing for the desktop, only inside side window inside the finder.
Sorry to note this here but I am not able to create a new topic within the Dell part in the forum The Dell Mini 10 not 10v actually works together with Snow Leopard!!!
The graphics driver issue was solved earlier. I possess a working Dell Mini 10 running Snow Leopard no sleep but working Wifi, sound etc while using Netbook installer and Netbook Boot Maker project from:
I ve got my Mini10V with 80211n and bluetooh working just great with 10.6.2.
together with the exception in the fact that I can never understand it to come out of sleep. If I close the lid or choose sleep on the menu, I m instructed to hard power off and restart.
The following step really should be added between Steps 1 and 2 around the Dell Mini 10v section above.
Resetting the BIOS to defaults will apparently unset the hidden bit how the Dell utility flips once you disable wireless.
Doing this may cause WiFi work in the event you cannot use wifi after following most of these instructions.
NOTE: You can do that anytime even though installing OSX just hist F2 once the 10v reboots.
Thank you to your advice. Your site seems to get the best for freshies. Other sites directions resemble magic trick instructions something is missing on the untrained eye!.
I thought this may be a cheap method to switch to Mac; something I have been apprehensive about but would like to perform.
I don t possess a Mac or know anyone which has a Mac. I recently got a new Dell 10v; I thought I could copy a retail OSX onto a harddrive and then usb it over to your Dell. Is this possible to perform without a Mac? Should I find the retail Snow Leopard? If not, how can I do that and what files should I find/download?
Thomas bondurant your a god! I just placed the default options inside bios i got wifi now!!!!!!!!! gosh!!!!! thank xou a lot
to tinker around with to be a hackintosh. Easily install Mac OSX 10.6 via Gizmodo s tutorial, or this tutorial. Quite fun along with a small little machine! Runs OSX perfectly. However, I m unsure I want to wait
goestoeleven: In your bios, disable legacy USB support. That should fix the sleep issue.
thomas bondurant: Buy the OS X Snow Leopard retail disk. You can find methods to complete the installation without having a Mac through the use of either a Linux or Windows computer.
TOK I believe the guide works with 10.5.
Barf It is safe to reboot after which run NetbookInstaller.
Ian Probably just need make it possible for hard drives appearing about the desktop which is really a Preferences thing in Finder from the top of my head! I think automatically it s set to off in Snow Leopard.
Chris Thanks to the info, I ll investigate this rrmprove the chart accordingly, cheers! That s nice thing about it!
Gordon Thanks a lot because of this info, I ll update the guide accordingly!

Thanks Crude, just a rapid clarification, I have not yet installed anything for the mini 10v. I just ordered it from dell, what should I do differently from your install instructions above? nothing aside from substitute the most up-to-date netbook installer? my copy of os x retail is 10.5.6, thanks with the help!

Jean-Francois- What version of netbook maker and netbook installer have you use? Also what version on the mac os x retail have you use? My Dell ought to be showing up each day now and I m uncertain how to proceed?
It isn't feasible to turn from the internal bluetooth adapter after updating to 10.6.3.
Today I bought the retail version of Snow Leopard. Still don t learn how to install it on my own 10v. I don t have a very Mac. I have an external hard disk, if it helps.
If anyone is able to install SnowLeop w/o a mac, Please Help!
On another note, I read today that Apple Comp. aapl is 3rd on market capitalization behind Exxon, Microsoft so they really are not necessarily hurting. In fact I bet their income are bigger than most companies because they are developing a insular business design. I had the ability to buy aapl at 35 some in the past, but didn t because I didn t understand IPODS why do individuals have to be f-ing! entertained whenever/wherever they're? Seriously, I love music however, if I m trying to relocate my bowels I don t have to have a soundtrack. Furthermore, reaching people in public is often a wonderful and meaningful portion of life
Well, I guess I was wrong because AAPL is a 240 today.
anyone else had problems trying to obtain snow leopard around the 10v with 8gb SSD? flat out wouldnt install on mine. a world of pain trying to have leopard functional opening packages, running updates, etc.
