The city forms - - often physically, but inevitably psychically - - a circle. A Game. A ring of death with sex at its center. Drive toward outskirts of city suburbs. At the edge discover zones of sophisticated vice and boredom, child prostitution. But inside the grimy ring immediately all around the daylight business district exists the one crowd life of our own mound, the only real street life, party all night atmosphere. Diseased specimens in dollar hotels, Iow boarding houses, bars, pawn shops, burlesques and brothels, in dying arcades which never die, in streets and streets of all-night cinemas.
When play dies it will become the Game.
When sex dies it is Climax.
All games support the idea of death.
Baths, bars, the indoor pool. Our injured leader prone about the sweating tile. Chlorine on his breath plus in his long hair. Lithe, although crippled, body of your middle-weight contender. It takes large murder to make rocks inside the shade and expose strange worms beneath. The lives of the discontented madmen are revealed.
Camera, as all-seeing god, satisfies our yearning for omniscience. To spy on others because of this height and angle, pedestrians pass in and out individuals lens like rare aquatic insects.
Yoga powers. To make oneself invisible or small. To become gigantic and reach towards the farthest things. To change the course of nature. To place oneself location in space or time. To summon the dead. To exalt senses and perceive inaccessible images, of events on other worlds, in ones deepest inner mind, or from the minds of others.
The snipers rifle can be an extension of his eye. He kills with injurious vision.
The assassin?, during flight, gravitated with unconscious, instinctual insect ease, moth-like, toward a zone of safety, haven from your swarming streets. Quickly, he was devoured from the warm, dark, silent maw in the physical theater.

Everything is vague and dizzy. The skin swells and there is absolutely no more distinction between parts from the body. An encroaching sound of threatening, mocking, monotonous voices. This is fear and attraction to become swallowed.
Inside the dream, button sleep around your whole body like a glove. Free now of space and time. Free to dissolve inside the streaming summer.
Sleep is definitely an under-ocean dipped into nightly. At morning, awake dripping, gasping, eyes stinging.

Chance is usually a survival of religion within the modern city, as they are theater, more reguarily cinema, the religion of possession.
What sacrifice, at what price can the location be born?
There are not dancers, the possessed. The cleavage of males into actor and spectators could be the central fact in our time. We are obsessive about heroes who live for people and whom we punish. If all of the radios and televisions were without the benefit of their options for power, all books and paintings burned tomorrow, all shows and cinemas closed, the many arts of vicarious
We are happy with the caved sensations quest. We have been metamorphosised coming from a mad body dancing on hillsides into a pair of eyes staring within the dark.
Not one from the prisoners regained sexual balance. Depressions, impotency, dispersion in languages, reading, games, music, and gymnastics.
The prisoners built their particular theater which testified to a incredible surfeit of leisure. A young sailor, forced into female roles, soon took over as the town darling, for by this time they called themselves a major city, and elected a mayor, police, aldermen.
In old Russia, the Czar, every year, granted - - out on the shrewdness of his personal soul or one of his advisors - - a weeks freedom for starters convict in all of his prisons. The choice was left towards the prisoners themselves also it was determined in lots of ways. Sometimes by vote, sometimes by lot, often by force. It was apparent that this chosen need to be a man of magic, virility, experience, perhaps narrative skill, men of possibility, simply speaking, the hero. Impossible situation at this time of freedom, impossible selection, defining the world in its percussions.
A room moves more than a landscape, uprooting mental performance, astonishing vision. A gray film melts away from the eyes, and runs along the cheeks. Farewell.
Modern life is usually a journey by car. The Passengers change terribly within their reeking seats, or roam from car to car, governed by unceasing transformation. Inevitable progress is created toward the start there is no difference in terminals, when we slice through cities, whose ripped backsides present a moving picture of windows, signs, streets, buildings. Sometimes other vessels, closed worlds, vacuums, travel along beside to relocate ahead or fall utterly behind.
Destroy roofs, walls, see in the many rooms immediately.
From the environment we trapped gods, using the gods omniscient gaze, but without their ability to be inside minds and cities when they fly above.

In Rome, prostitutes were exhibited on roofs over the public highways for that dubious hygiene of loose tides in men whose potential lust endangered the fragile order of power. It is even reported that patrician ladies, masked and naked, sometimes offered themselves as much as these deprived eyes internet hosting is excitements of his or her.
More or less, were all afflicted with all the psychology with the voyeur. Not within a strictly clinical or criminal sense, playing with our whole physical and emotional stance ahead of the world. Whenever we aim to break this spell of passivity, our actions are cruel and awkward and customarily obscene, just like an invalid who may have forgotten how to walk.
The voyeur, the peeper, the Peeping Tom, is really a dark comedian. He is repulsive as part of his dark anonymity, in their secret invasion. He is pitifully alone. But, strangely, he or she is able through this same silence and concealment to generate unknowing partner of anyone within his eyes range. This is his threat and power.
There aren't glass houses. The shades are drawn and actual life begins. Some activities are impossible inside open. And these secret events would be the voyeurs game. He seeks them out together with his myriad army of eyes - - such as the childs notion of an Deity who sees all. Everything? asks the little one. Yes, everything, they answer, plus the child is left to handle this divine intrusion.
The voyeur is masturbator, the mirror his badge, of the question his prey.
Urge to get to terms using the Outside, by absorbing, interiorizing it. I wont turn out, you have to come in for me. Into my womb-garden where I peer out. Where I can construct a universe from the skull, to rival the genuine.
She said, Your eyes are usually black. The pupil opens to seize the item of vision.
Imagery exists of loss. Loss on the friendly expanses. The breast is removed plus the face imposes its cold, curious, forceful, and inscrutable presence.
You may enjoy life from afar. You may check out things although not taste them. You may caress the mother just with the eyes.
You cannot touch these phantoms.
French Deck. Solitary stroker of cards. He dealt himself a hand. Turn stills with the past in unending permutations, shuffle and. Sort the pictures again. And sort them again. This game reveals germs of truth, and death.
The world becomes an apparently infinite, yet possibly finite, card game. Image combinations, permutations, comprise the globe game.
A mild possession, without risk, at bottom sterile. With an image there is absolutely no attendant danger.
Muybridge derived his animal subjects through the Philadelphia Zoological Garden, male performers from your University. The women were professional artists models, also actresses and dancers, parading nude ahead of the 48 cameras.
Films are collections of dead pictures that are given artificial insemination.
Film spectators are quiet vampires.
Cinema is most totalitarian in the arts. All energy and sensation is sucked up in to the skull, a cerebral erection, skull bloated with blood. Caligula wished just one neck for all those his subjects which he could behead a kingdom with one blow. Cinema is transforming agent. The body exists to the sake on the eyes; it might be a dry stalk to guide these two soft insatiable jewels.
Film confers a type of spurious eternity.
Each film depends upon all of the others and drives your self on to others. Cinema was obviously a novelty, a scientific toy, until an acceptable body of works was amassed, enough to make an intermittent other world, an effective, infinite mythology for being dipped into as you desire.
Films come with an illusion of timelessness fostered by your family, indomitable appearance.
The good thing about cinema lies from the fear of death.
The modern East creates the greatest body of films. Cinema is a different form associated with an ancient tradition - - the shadow play. Even their theater is definitely an imitation from it. Born in India or China, the shadow show was aligned with religious ritual, connected with celebrations which centered around cremation from the dead.
It is wrong to visualize, as some do, that cinema is associated with women. Cinema is established by men for that consolation of males.
The shadow plays originally were tied to male audiences. Men could view these dream shows from either side from the screen. When women later began for being admitted, we were holding allowed to attend and then shadows.
Male genitals are small faces forming trinities of thieves and Christs Fathers, sons, and ghosts.
A nose hangs on the wall and a couple of half eyes, sad eyes, mute and handless, multiply great round of victories.
These dry and secret triumphs, fought in stalls and stamped in prisons, glorify our walls and scorch our vision.
A horror of empty spaces propagates this seal on private places.
Kynastons Bride might not appear however the odor of her flesh isn't very far.
A drunken crowd knocked in the apparatus, and Mayhews showman, exhibiting at Islington Green, burned up, together with his mate, inside.
In 1832, Gropius was astounding Paris along with his Pleorama. The audience was transformed into your crew aboard a speed boat engaged in battle. Fire, screaming, sailors, drowning.
Robert Baker, an Edinburgh artist, when it's in jail for debt, was struck with the effect of light shining throughout the bars of his cell via a letter he was reading, and from this perception he invented the initial Panorama, a concave, transparent picture view on the city.
This invention was soon replaced with the???Diorama, which added the illusion to move by shifting the space. Also sounds and novel lights. Daguerres London Diorama still stands in Regents Park, an exceptional survival, because these shows depended always on outcomes of artificial light, made by lamps or gas jets, and frequently ended in fire.
Phantasmagoria, magic lantern shows, spectacles without substance. They achieved complete sensory experiences through noise, incense, lightning, water. There may be a period when well attend Weather Theaters to can remember the sensation of rain.
Cinema has evolved by 50 percent paths.
One is spectacle. Like the Phantasmagoria, its goal could be the creation of your total substitute sensory world.
The other is peep show, which claims because of its realm the erotic and also the untampered observance of actual, and imitates the keyhole or voyeurs window without necessity of color, noise, grandeur.
Cinema discovers its fondest affinities, steer clear painting, literature, or theater, but while using popular diversions - - comics, chess, French and Tarot decks, magazines, and tattooing.
Cinema derives not from painting, literature, sculpture, theater, but from ancient popular wizardry. It will be the contemporary manifestation associated with an evolving good reputation for shadows, a take pleasure in pictures that move, a belief in magic. Its lineage is entwined in the earliest beginning Priests and sorcery, a summoning of phantoms. With, in the beginning, only slight aid with the mirror and fire, men called up dark and secret visits from regions within the buried mind. In these seances, shades are spirits which defend against evil.
The spectator is usually a dying animal.
Invoke, palliate, drive away the Dead. Nightly.
Through ventriloquism, gestures, spend playtime with objects, and all sorts of rare variations with the body in space, the shaman signaled his trip in an audience which shared your way.
In the seance, the shaman led. A sensuous panic, deliberately evoked through drugs, chants, dancing, hurls the shaman into trance. Changed voice, convulsive movement. He acts just like a madman. These professional hysterics, chosen precisely with regards to psychotic leaning, were once esteemed. They mediated between man and spirit-world. Their mental travels formed the crux with the religious life on the tribe.
Principle of seance: for stopping illness. A mood might overtake a people burdened by historical events or dying in the bad landscape. They seek deliverance from doom, death, dread. Seek possession, the visit of gods and powers, a rewinning from the life source from demon possessors. The cure is culled from ecstasy. Cure illness or prevent its visit, revive the sick, and regain stolen, soul.
It is wrong to believe that art needs the spectator in order to become. The film runs using without any eyes. The spectator cannot exist without. It insures his existence.
The happening/the event where ether is introduced in to a roomful of folks through air vents helps to make the chemical an actor. Its agent, or injector, is surely an artist-showman who generates a performance to witness himself. The people consider themselves audience, since they perform for each and every other, as well as the gas acts out poems of their own from the medium on the human body. This approaches the psychology in the orgy while remaining within the realm in the Game as well as infinite permutations.
The aim with the happening is for stopping boredom, wash your eye area, make childlike reconnections with all the stream of life. Its lowest, widest aim is perfect for purgation of perception. The happening tries to engage all of the senses, the overall organism, and achieve total response from the face of traditional arts which target narrower inlets of sensation.
Multimedias are normally sad comedies. They work as a sort of colorful group therapy, a woeful mating of actors and viewers, a mutual semimasturbation. The performers often need their audience as well as the spectators-the spectators would find the mild titillations in the freak show or Fun Fair and fancier, more complete amusements within a Mexican cathouse.
Novices, we watch the moves of silkworms who excite themselves in moist leaves and weave wet nests of hair and skin.
This is often a model of the liquid resting world dissolving bone and melting marrow opening pores as wide as windows.
The stranger was sensed as greatest menace in ancient communities.
Metamorphose. An object is take off from its name, habits, associations. Detached, it is only the thing, all alone. When this disintegration into pure existence reaches last achieved, the article is free being endlessly anything.
The subject says I see first a great deal of things which everything becomes gradually connected.
Objects when they exist in time the clean eye and camera impart us with. Not falsified by seeing.
When you will find as yet no objects.
Early film makers, who - - such as alchemists - - delighted within a willful obscurity regarding craft, so as to withhold their skills from profane onlookers.
Separate, purify, reunite. The formula of Ars Magna, as well as its heir, the cinema.
The camera is androgynous machine, a sort of mechanical hermaphrodite.
In his retort the alchemist repeats the effort of Nature.
Few would defend a small look at Alchemy as Mother of Chemistry, and confuse the truth is goal with those external metal arts. Alchemy is surely an erotic science, involved with buried issues with reality, geared towards purifying and transforming all being and matter. Not to report that material operations are ever abandoned. The adept holds to their mystical and physical work.
The alchemists detect from the sexual activity of individual a correspondence together with the worlds creation, using the growth of plants, with mineral formations. When they begin to see the union of rain and earth, they find it in an erotic sense, as copulation. And this also includes all natural realms of matter. For they will picture love affairs of chemicals and stars, a romance of stones, or perhaps the fertility of fire.
Strange, fertile correspondences the alchemists sensed in unlikely orders for being. Between men and planets, plants and gestures, words and weather. These disturbing connections: an infants cry along with the stroke of silk; the whorl of the ear with an appearance of dogs within the yard; a womans head lowered in sleep along with the morning dance of cannibals; they're conjunctions which transcend the sterile signal associated with a willed montage. These juxtapositions of objects, sounds, actions, colors, weapons, wounds, and odors shine in the unheard-of way, impossible ways.
Film is not when not an illumination of the chain to be which makes a needle poised in flesh contact explosions in the foreign capital.
Cinema returns us to anima, religion of matter, giving each thing its special divinity and sees gods in all of the things and beings.
Cinema, heir of alchemy, last associated with an erotic science.
Surround Emperor of Body. Bali Bali dancers Will not break my temple.

The Lords. Events happen beyond our knowledge or control. Our lives are lived for many people. We can only try and enslave others. But gradually, special perceptions are now being developed. The idea in the Lords is starting to form in many minds. We should enlist them into bands of perceivers to tour the labyrinth on their mysterious nocturnal appearances. The Lords have secret entrances, and they also know disguises. But they give themselves away in minor ways. Too much glint of light from the eye. A wrong gesture. Too long and curious looking.
The Lords appease us with images. They provide us with books, concerts, galleries, shows, cinemas. Especially the cinemas. Through art they confuse us and blind us to the enslavement. Art adorns our prison walls, keeps us silent and diverted and indifferent.
Dull lions prone over a watery beach. The universe kneels with the swamp to curiously eye its raw postures of decay within the mirror of human consciousness.
Absent and peopled mirror, absorbent, passive to whatever visits and retains its interest.

Turn mirrors on the wall inside the house on the new dead.

The Lords along with the New Creatures is really a collection of poetry by Jim Morrison, who had previously been lead singer of The Doors. The book is divided into two sections: The Lords: Notes on Vision, and The New Creatures. This is one particular intriguing books that I unintentionally picked off of the shelf within a bookstore and easily began reading there within the aisle; I found Morrisons work so engrossing that within minutes I knew I had to acquire the book and explore it deeper.
The first division on the book is dominated by prose poems. This portion in the book can be a combination of mystical/philosophical treatise and cultural criticism, often supplemented with historical references; here Morrison sounds such as the love child of William Blake and Roland Barthes. The second part in the book consists largely of free verse and is also more enigmatic; featuring its sometimes nightmarish imagery, The New Creatures strikes me as Morrisons own individual Book of Revelation.
An important theme with this book could be the archetypal city: a hoop of deathwith sex at its center. Morrison also writes concerning the alchemist, the voyeur, as well as other figures. Much on the book deals with all the motion picture as both art and cultural institution. Throughout it are hallucinogenic swirls of cross-cultural references and allusions: Yoga, the assassin Oswald, hermaphroditism, the Christian trinity, Tarot cards, ventriloquism, lynching, etc.
In The Lords plus the New Creatures, Morrison seems for being trying to attain a unified vision/theory that encompasses both today's technology and humanitys mythic heritage. His poetic language is usually quite startling. This is often a remarkable volume by a designer who is himself a legendary figure in last century pop culture.

Is everybody in, everybody in? The ceremony is going to begin. Let me tell you about surrealism plus the lost god.For those who are sincere to themsleves and will dig deep to the soul, you might indeed capture the poetry in which our life is all about. Poetry gives life form, most of the people see poetry to be a series of rhyming words. They have got everthing wrong. Jim explored the earth not as how although of wanted it to get, nevertheless the way our planet already is. Some people show ignorance inside the disorder that were sorrounded with, Jim didnt. He would be a poet of truth, thats what Jim tells us in this particular book.
The only authorized samples of Morrisons poetry were issued in 1969 as private limited editions of only 100 copies each. Later American editions became essential reading, not merely for fans of The Doors but for those with an interest in contemporary American verse. The Lords and The New Creatures are a crucial appendix to your breathtaking music Jim put aside. Great Poetry book made by a great american poet!
Strange gods arrive in fast enemy poses.
Soft lizard eyes connect.
new fear, where fears reign.
The rustling of sex against their skin.
The wind withdraws all sound.
Stamp your witness around the punished ground.
Buy this book! I endorse it!
Jims poetry is often a gift to anyone who reads it. Everybody has poetry, and not everyone writes it down or allows others to learn it. To be aware of another mans soul can be an indescribable experience. If you dont be aware of the words that doesnt increase the risk for poetry bad, there isn't any such terminology for art, it transcends all judgement. You may say you dont as if it which actually means you dont comprehend it. You cannot however judge it. That may be the odyssey of art and that's also why numerous chose to escape in the lawless land of truly free expression. So utilize another mans soul and surround yourself in reference to his words. No laws. No judge. No jurors.
Jim Morrison is one in the unsung heroes of his generation inside literary scene. But, his poems are simply as good, or else greater. Surprisingly, his poetic style takes a different approach from his lyric style. There is no rhyme scheme, and his works are direct thoughts. All are perceptive of the society, and its particular imperfections. My only challenge with this book is how the publisher granted a full page to 1 poem, that might only be two lines long. Although, this could be good with the individual that is into taking notes, and hanging upon Morrisons every word. This does help, because his poems require intense meditation. I find that all phrase, with each verse might have as many as five different meanings. They can be taken literally, or while he wouldve meant, for the metaphorical level. In short, a high level fan of his work together with the Doors, or offer an interest in Beat Literature, then this would be the book for you personally. Prepare to get blown away!
Jim Morrison was a person way prior to his time. He was a designer of stellar magnitude as well like a prolific perfomer. Jims first love was poetry. He always said that she wanted to get known first as being a poet and then being a musician not the other way round. Jims poems such as beautiful and dark music he wrote and recorded with The Doors was at night times that she lived in. This is his first book of published poetry that was released in 1969, he financed this publication himself because as well known as they was as being the lead singer of The Doors he think it is difficult to find a publisher which was interested enough in publishing his dark, avant-garde and often violent poetry. This can be a wonderful book and would make a fantastic addition to your fan of his and with this type of poetry. Absolutely riveting and brilliant. Jim became a fiercely intelligent man who possessed a fantastic yet tortured soul. Read about the person and his poetry/music you may love it.
Great book, arrived quickly!
I guess there's still room for further poetry from the I still prefer his songs, though!
Great book, you undoubtedly get a taste of his perspective along with the way he writes poetry is unique. It has an intriguing flow and balance between meanings and words.
