I cannot get Left 4 Dead 2 running on Windows 8. It crashes same position, 11 seconds into the overall game, soon after the Valve logo screen shows up. It will flicker, the audio will break and after that it will kick me to desktop. I have looked from the forums and I tried every one of the fixes:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the sport.

win8 would crash to desktop with updated my sound card for windows had the issue since. only reason i've got sound card is that my videocard has to connect to it so as to play sound through dvi/hdmi to tv.
check your entire drivers and pay attention to if you'll find win8 versions for him or her.

Did a brand new install of steam and I dont obtain the issue of having to own as admin anymore.
However, L4D2 still crashes copied files over from previous install, removed addons, removed.
Will try again with fresh files, though I doubt it's going to change.
I just completed it with a new download in the game also it works now. Ill make an effort to trial and error somewhat to see what are the issue could have just been file permissions as well, though.
I aslo possess a crush to desktop problem, only on windows 7 and without the errors popping. Game just shuts down inside middle on the game session. Havent had this matter until recently.
